Blizzard started as a small gaming company in 1991. Back then, they were making games for the Nintendo Super Entertainment Center. Today, PCs can form networks, and players can play together around the “LAN Party.” This concept first got famous in 1993. Blizzard successfully went on the rise, launching Warcraft, their first PC game, in 1994. Warcraft was a strategy game that could completely connect to the capability of online gaming.
Blizzard is best known for its big-budget hits, including StarCraft, World of Warcraft, and Diablo franchises. Blizzard Entertainment, Inc., a league of Activision Blizzard, is a leading software platform of entertainment renowned for creating many of the most commercially successful games in the industry.
Activision Blizzard is one of the biggest game development companies in the world, with a revenue of $7.5 billion in 2018.
Merger Of Activision And Blizzard
The history of Activision Blizzard takes us more than 40 years back in time. The company had a humble beginning. Two amazing gaming brands, Activision and Blizzard Entertainment decided to merge, bringing together all the best creativity in gaming. The takeover of King in 2016 further enhanced the company’s vision of bringing the world together through incredible entertainment. Today, Activision Blizzard celebrates its business segments and has had a lot of fun and adventure throughout its journey.
First Online Game By Blizzard Entertainment
Blizzard released Diablo, their first game that could be played online with other players in cooperation with Battle.net, a free online portal that makes it easier than ever for PC gamers worldwide to play together online. Battle.net, with its incredibly well-designed games, simply allowed players to log in to a system using a personal profile, check for matches, and begin talking.

Release of New Games
When does Blizzard release new games? By “new games,” we mean more sequels and spin-offs. And it so happens that there are various projects lined up, but none of them have a release date as of yet.
One of the latest Blizzard conflicts was Diablo Immortal’s announcement at BlizzCon 2018. But the most disappointing news for the fans is that this game will only be played on mobile phones.
At this point, we don’t know much about Diablo Eternal, but we do know that there will be six classes: Barbarian, Sorcerer, Priest, Necromancer, Demon Hunter, and Crusader.
Of course, it’s not going to be quite as difficult as diablo games that were released for the PC and home consoles, but it remains to be seen how it’s going to end up.
Future Of Blizzard Franchise
Companies like Apple and Google’s Stadia are investing in a new gaming platform type using subscription-based streaming platforms. Even candidates are investing in digital user experience through versatile gaming and AR/VR capabilities.
Unfortunately, the franchise of Blizzard is losing its charm due to the backlashes over some games like Reforged.. Blizzard should be looking to make big moves if it wants to continue operating in this competitive digital landscape. The only possibility of this company staying is by purchasing an innovative gaming company with new ideas. Otherwise, the future doesn’t look very bright and hopeful for Blizzard.
