Facebook Is Now Letting Brands and Publishers Create Their Own Groups Within Pages

If you are an artist, a business, a brand, or a newspaper, Facebook has a new feature for you that will enable to create fan clubs and groups centered around your super-fans. Yes, the social networking company has recently rolled out the ‘Groups for Pages,‘ feature worldwide allowing the 70 million Pages on Facebook to create their own distinct communities and feeds. That means, now Facebook Pages can interact with super fans through linked groups.

The new feature had been under testing in March earlier this year, and now Chief Product Officer Chris Cox announced the feature’s full rollout in a Facebook post, explaining how the product was built.

Mentioning how one of The Washington Post’s reporters started a group called PostThis for its journalists and most loyal readers, Cox wrote: ” The ‘Groups for Pages’ feature can thus be considered as a digital version of letters to the editor of a publication, but with ongoing real-time discussions.”

For Facebook Pages, the ‘Groups for Pages’ feature is accessible through the settings panel. Pages can easily link to an existing Group or create new ones as a dedicated space for discussions. As for the users who want to engage in real-time conversations with their favorite page, they can find the linked groups in the Page’s Groups shortcut.

This new update lets the company move forward with its mission to focus more heavily on groups, which CEO Mark Zuckerberg has said in the past is part of his vision for building a more tightly knit online community.
