Everyone has a story. Most of us share our memories, daily activities with our friends on social media by uploading pictures, videos and posts. But, sometimes we would like to share those moments for a short span of time. And we all know that our favorite Social Networking sites such as Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook have the feature called story where users can share their moments of daily life for a time span of 24 hours. But most of the people do not know how to upload photos or videos which were already taken or which are present in the camera roll. So, here are the tips on how to add pictures or videos which were taken by you long back to your Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook stories.
1. Snapchat
Open your Snapchat app and you will see a little bubble at the bottom of the screen, right in between the messaging and stories icon (or) right below the bubble which is used to take snaps. Tap on that bubble.
Now you can see all the snaps you saved in the SNAPS column and all the pictures or videos saved in the CAMERAROLL column.
Select the snap you would like to upload it in your story. Then you will find EDIT & SEND at the bottom of your mobile screen. If you would like to edit the snap before sharing then click on the edit icon.
Edit the snap with cool filters available
Now click on the send icon present at the bottom right corner of the screen. Now you can select individual friends or you can just put it in My Story. However, when you select a picture from your camera roll, the picture appears with a white border and it will display the number of days or weeks the picture was taken.
Happy snapping.
2. Instagram
To create a story of your own in Instagram, firstly, open Instagram. Tap the camera icon on the top left corner of the app or click on the bubble with your image below the Stories section on the top or you can go to your profile and click on your display picture with “+” on it.
Now tap the images icon on the bottom left corner of the screen. Select the picture you would like to share by scrolling the images towards the left at the bottom of your mobile screen. Previously, Instagram allowed only the pictures that were taken before 24 hours. After the new update, it is allowing the users to select any picture from their gallery. However, it will crop the images and only displays the image that fits the screen.
After selecting the image or video, you can do the editing using the filters it has provided and then tap the Your Story icon to post it immediately or tap the Next icon on the bottom right corner of the screen where you have the option of choosing the particular friends you would like to send the image and to all of your followers.
If you want to add a second story before the first story expires, just click on the camera icon on the top left corner or double click on the existing story icon.
3. Facebook
The procedure of creating a story is same as the procedure of Instagram. Firstly, open the Facebook app. Tap the camera icon or the bubble with your image on the top of the app.
Tap the gallery icon on the bottom right corner of the screen. Select a photo of your choice. If you find pictures that were only taken within the past 24 hrs, then you can select an older picture by re-saving it or take a screen shot of that picture. Then it will appear in the recent pictures.
Then edit the image with the available filters. Then tap the Your Story icon. Confirm by clicking ADD. In Facebook and Instagram, no one can figure out which is an old photo, unlike Snapchat.
Now you know how to share your old pictures as a story in Snapchat, Facebook, and Instagram. Keep sharing your favorite moments. If you know any other tricks then do let us know in the comments section below. We would love to hear from you.
