The Indian cricket team is known for their impressive performance in the field. Fans usually see their favorite cricketers focused on the match and aiming to bring home victory. However, today, the focus will not only center on the high-profile Indian cricket players but also on their wives who play a big part in their lives.

Based on the latest cricket news, the Indian national cricket team is bound to have matches against Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. The first month of the year is definitely a packed schedule for the Men in Blue.

Without further ado, here are the women who caught the heart of the cricket players from the India national cricket team.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma

Virat Kohli is married to Anushka Sharma, an Indian actress and film producer for Hindi films. She was born in Ayodhya but raised in Bangalore. Sharma is one of the most recognized and highest-paid actresses in India. On top of that, Sharma also started modeling in 2007 for the fashion designer Wendell Rodricks.

She has received a number of awards including a Filmfare Award. She was also included in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 in 2012 and in Forbes Asia’s 20 Under 30 list in 2018.

She rose into popularity because of her roles in Yash Raj Films Band Baaja Baaraat in 2010 and Jab Tak Hai Jaan in 2012. She received the Best Supporting Actress award at Filmfare for her role in the latter film.

Sharma also started her own clothing line for women, called Nush. She is an ambassador for different brands and products. Other than that, she is also the co-founder of the production company, Clean Slate Films.

Kohli and Sharma began dating in 2013 and have since earned a couple of nickname ‘Virushka.’ Their high-profile relationship attracted the attention of the media, which resulted in the spread of various rumors and speculations.

The two managed to keep their relationship private despite their very public lives. The couple married in a private ceremony in Florence, Italy on December 11, 2017.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Sakshi Dhoni

MS Dhoni married his schoolmate in DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir, Sakshi Singh Rawat, on July 4, 2010. When they got married, Sakshi was still studying hotel management and was working at the Taj Bengal, Kolkata as a trainee.

The two got married a day after their engagement. However, according to a close friend, the wedding was planned for months and wasn’t spontaneous. On February 6, 2015, they welcomed their baby girl named Ziva.

During the day of her birth, Dhoni was in the middle of a match in Australia for the 2015 Cricket World Cup. Dhoni decided not to fly to his wife and said, ‘I am on national duty, other things can wait’.

Sakshi is a private individual, but occasionally enjoys sharing photos and videos of their daughter on her Instagram account.

Suresh Raina and Priyanka Chaudhary Raina

Suresh and Priyanka were childhood friends turned husband-wife. Priyanka’s father was Suresh’s sports teacher, and his mother was close friends with her mother. Suresh considers it an ‘arranged marriage’ of some sort since their families have known each other for a long time.

In an interview, Suresh said, ‘I have known Priyanka for long, but in the middle, I didn’t have time to be in touch with her. I remember meeting her at the airport for five minutes in 2008. She was flying back to Holland (where she currently works), and I was going to Bangalore for an IPL game, and we met at the Delhi airport for just five minutes’.

Suresh recalled that he was in Australia when the marriage was fixed, and his mother took the action to make all decisions. His mother called him on the phone to inform him about his upcoming marriage with a childhood friend. He asked who the girl was, and then suddenly he heard Priyanka’s voice.

Suresh said that his wife is a big fan of football and not cricket.

Irfan Pathan and Safa Baig

Irfan and Safa met in Dubai in 2014 and got engaged in 2016. Safa was born in Jeddah and is the daughter of Mirza Farooq Baig. She was featured in a number of fashion magazines in the Gulf. On top of that, she also worked as an executive editor in a PR firm.

Irfan Pathan married model Safa Baig on February 4, 2016, in Mecca. The couple welcomed their son named Imran Khan Pathan on December 20, 2016.

Rohit Sharma and Ritika Sajdeh

Ritika is a professional sports manager and organizes worldwide sports tours for his husband. She was a sports manager with Cornerstone Sports and Entertainment after graduating from college.

On their wedding anniversary, Rohit scored his 3rd double-century against Sri Lanka, which was a great anniversary gift for his wife, who was surely proud.

The two started with a professional friendship that grew into a romantic relationship. They dated for six years before deciding to tie the knot. Rohit proposed at the Borivali Sports Club in Mumbai, and Ritika, of course, said yes.

Yuvraj Singh and Hazel Keech

Yuvraj Singh married a British-Mauritian model, Hazel Keech, who starred in several Indian films and TV shows. She was also part of various advertisements in Mumbai since 2005.

Yuvraj and Hazel got engaged on November 12, 2015, and got married on November 30, 2016. Yuvraj Singh was diagnosed with lung cancer, and Hazel provided all the support he needed during those tough times. After their marriage, Hazel adopted the name ‘Gurbasant Kaur’ — granted to her by Sant Balvinder Singh during their wedding.

Shikhar Dhawan and Ayesha Mukherjee

Shikhar Dhawan is married to Ayesha Mukherjee– a half Bengali and half British amateur boxer from Australia. She is a trained kickboxer and a sports fanatic and fitness freak. She has two daughters from her previous marriage.

The couple met on Facebook through their mutual friend, Harbhajan Singh. He came across her Facebook profile and sent a friend request, after which was followed by long conversations.

Eventually, they got engaged in 2009. They finally tied the knot on October 30, 2012, since Shikhar wanted to establish his cricket career before getting married. Throughout this time, he was also able to develop a strong relationship with Ayesha’s two daughters, Aliyah and Rhea.

Ayesha’s broken marriage was controversial and initially received negative comments. Despite this, Shikhar’s mother remained supportive of her son’s decision to marry the women he loves.

Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra

Harbhajan Singh is married to Geeta Basra, an Indian actress from the Hindi film industry. She attended the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute and made her debut in the film Dil Diya Hai in 2006.

Their story began after Harbhajan saw Geeta in a music video, ‘Woh Ajnabee’ from the film, ‘The Train.’ He was starstruck to the point that he asked friends for connections, and eventually, he got her number.

Harbhajan and Geeta got married on October 29, 2015, in Jalandhar. On July 26, 2016, they welcomed their daughter, Hinaya Heer Plaha, on July 27, 2016, in Portsmouth, Hampshire.
