Guide To Installing Pluto TV on Firestick

If you’re a cord-cutter who doesn’t want to pay for streaming services like Netflix and YouTube TV, then Pluto TV just might be the app for you. The service is available for free, although you have to remember that it’s being supported by ads. Pluto TV is owned by Viacom, the same owners of Nickelodeon, MTV, and other popular channels.

Instead of completely forgoing cable channels for internet streams, Pluto TV gives you the best of both worlds. There are over 250 live channels on the platform, along with on-demand movies and TV shows. It’s regularly updated too, so new channels get added all the time.

Supported Devices

One other thing that makes Pluto TV so great is the fact that its options are so diverse. If you own a renowned streaming device or smart TV, then chances are that Pluto TV will also be available on it. That being said, here’s the complete list of supported devices so you can check whether you can use this app:

  • iOS mobile & tablet
  • Android mobile & tablet
  • Android TV (various)
  • Google Chromecast
  • Chrome Web App
  • Amazon Kindle/Fire Tablets
  • Amazon Fire TV + Fire TV Stick
  • Roku Devices + Roku TV

How to Install Pluto TV on Firestick

Now that you’re confident you can download and install Pluto TV on your device, here’s an easy step-by-step on how to do so. For this guide, we’ll be using the Amazon Firestick, but the process is more or less the same for the others. It’s a really straightforward process, so you don’t have to worry about getting lost or confused.

Hover on the search icon found on your Firestick’s home screen.

Using the on-screen keyboard, type in “Pluto TV” onto the search field. Fortunately, the Pluto TV app is available on Firestick, so you don’t need to sideload it or download through third-party processes.

Click on the app once you find it on the list. This will lead you to the download page. Simply click the Download button. For some users, this may show up as “Get” instead of “Download.”

Wait for a few minutes while the application finishes downloading and installing.

At this point, you can already start streaming movies and live TV by tapping on Open. However, we recommend that you do just a few more steps before launching the app. Press and hold the Home button found on your remote.

When you see this screen, click on Apps.

Find the Pluto TV app at the bottom of the list and hover on it. Click the Options button.

Select Move.

You can go ahead and rearrange the apps, moving the Pluto TV app wherever you want. For convenience, you can put it at the very front of the list.

Now, you can go ahead and open the app. Pluto TV has been successfully downloaded and installed to your Amazon Firestick and you’re free to watch and browse through all the available content.

Conclusion

If you’re looking for something free that offers a wide variety of content, then what more could you be looking for other than Pluto TV? Understandably, some might not be too fond of the ads, but this is a great platform for those who can overlook them. Besides, it’s completely free of charge, so it’s a pretty good deal.
