Everyone thought that Whatsapp has listened to our prayers when it released the Delete for Everyone feature, the feature which potentially allows the users to unsend the embarrassing messages they have sent. Not even a month after Whatsapp announced the new functionality, a clever hack has been discovered to read the deleted Whatsapp messages. Yes, now the recipient can read the messages you deleted in the conversation.
Android Jefe spotted that the Android devices log the messages appearing in the notification bar. With a simple widget available on the Android smartphones one can view the deleted messages.
How to Read Deleted Whatsapp Messages
1. Go to the home screen on your Android device.
2. Tap and hold the screen in any free area.
3. Tap the widget icon at the bottom of the screen.
4. Now scroll down and select the Settings widget and place it on the home screen.
5. Open the widget and tap the Notification Log.
You’ll see a list of all notifications that you got from all apps including Whatsapp deleted messages.
There’s another method to view the deleted Whatsapp messages which through an app called Notification History in Google Play Store that keeps the record of all the notifications you get.
However, this method works only when you swipe the notification to clear it or tap the message to view it. If you do not see the notification it won’t be logged and you can not see the message.
It doesn’t even matter if you delete the message within 7 minutes or after 7 minutes if the person reads the message from the notification bar. Even if he/she doesn’t they can access it through the notification log.
