  • Sometimes, this issue occurs when the Windows Installer components are missing.

Ways To Resolve QuickBooks Error 1603

There are different methods to resolve this issue based upon the prime cause of this error. Try out these methods and fix the error.

Method 1: Run QuickBooks InstallTool.exe file

You need to download, install, and run the QuickBooks InstallTool.exe file to resolve this error. In order to do so, follow the steps given below:

  • First of all, download and install the “QBInstallTool.exe” file and save it on your system.
  • After that, click on this file to run the QuickBooks install diagnostic tool.
  • In case, your problem persists – you should follow the next method.
  • Now, wait till the repairing process is going on. Usually, it takes 15 to 25 minutes.
  • Once the repairing process is completed, restart your computer and see if the issue is resolved.

Method 2: Repair MSXML 4.0

If the above method does not work for you in fixing the issue, try out this method. The procedure for repairing MSXML file can be done using the CD. You need to insert the CD and follow the onscreen instructions to resolve this issue.

  • Click on the “Windows” and enter “exe /fvaum “D:/QBOOKS/msxml.msi” in the search box. 
  • Press the “Enter” key.
  • Now, when the CD force the “msiexec.exe/fvaum ‘D:/QBOOKS/msxml.msi’” in the search dialogue box, hit the “Enter” key.

Method 3: Install the QuickBooks Tool Hub

QuickBooks Tool hub resolves many issues. It is very easy to use.

  • First, close QuickBooks and download the QuickBooks Tool Hub file.
  • After the file is downloaded, save it on your system.
  • Now, open the QuickBooksToolHub.exe file and install it by following the on-screen instructions.
  • When the installation gets completed, double-click the icon your Windows desktop to open the tool hub and run it to detect the issues and resolve them.

Method 4: Update Windows to Latest Version

For Windows 8 and Above 

  • Click on the Windows Icon and go to Settings

For Windows 7

Method 5: Repair Microsoft .Net Framework, MSXML and C++ issues

You need to install the “QuickBook Install Diagnostic tool” which will help you to fix issues associated with .NET Framework, MSXML, and C++.

  • Login to your system as the “Admin” account and search for the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool.
  • Click on the Install Diagnostic tool and download & save the file on the system.
  • Next, close all the background applications.
  • After that, select the QBInstall_Tool_v2.exe file and click on the “Run” button.
  • Finally, run the “Complete Scan” on the system and repair the issues.
