Is the Google Pixel Making Waves in the Mobile Gaming Landscape?

The first Google Pixel mobile phone was released in 2016, and the device has developed greatly over the years. At the time of writing, the most recent Google Pixel releases are the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7. As with most of the leading smartphone manufacturers, there are different versions of each phone available, and you can select the one you want based on specifications or budget. In terms of gaming, does the Google Pixel have what it takes to make waves in the mobile gaming landscape?

Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro

The main feature to highlight in terms of gaming on the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro is the Game Dashboard. This is available using Android 12, which was exclusive to the Pixel 6 upon release in 2021. Some of the games available in the Game Dashboard are optimized to perform better using the specifications of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. When playing mobile games using the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, you can set the device to prioritize performance over battery life. So, if you want the device to play a game using the highest framerate and best graphics, you can set the phone for that purpose, or you can choose to focus on the battery life. When online gambling, you may choose the former for online slots to enjoy the graphics but the latter when betting on sports markets, as the graphics are not important. The Game Dashboard has changed the way people play mobile games and are first introduced in the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, meaning the device has made waves in the mobile gaming landscape.

Google Pixel 7 Pro

The Google Pixel phones are often celebrated for their photography capabilities, and the Pixel 7 Pro is no different. However, the Pixel 7 Pro also excels as a gaming phone. When compared to the competition, such as the latest Samsung devices, the Pixel 7 Pro is not quite up there with the best in terms of mobile gaming. When pushing the graphical capabilities of the Pixel 7 Pro, the phone averaged around 40fps, which is good. When playing graphically intense games at medium settings and 60 frames per second, there were no frame drops or other issues to report. Everything is smooth and quick when using the Pixel 7 Pro, and that includes gaming.

Comparison with Other Devices

The Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro introduced something new to the Android gaming market, and that was exciting. The same cannot be said for the Google Pixel 7 Pro. It is a good mobile phone for gaming, but it does not come out on top when compared to other devices. For those who want to play graphically intense games and compete against other people online, the Pixel 7 Pro may not be the best choice. However, for those who are happily playing less graphic-intensive games, the Pixel 7 Pro is more than capable, but the strengths of the device lie elsewhere.
