All The Fun You Can Have With Your New VR Headset

You may think you have heard it all before, but there really is a whole world of experience out there waiting for you. You probably have a bucket list, a list of things you want to conquer before you get to the end of the short road that is life, but if you are honest with yourself, life will probably get in the way and leave you feeling somewhat underwhelmed with how little of that list you actually complete.

It’s a tough pill to swallow, regret is probably one of the most brutal feelings to encounter. To look back at one’s life and wish you did things differently or even at all, can leave you feeling bitter and resentful, but not toward others, but to yourself. Now, who wants to deal with that?

It’s easy to say “carpe diem”, or “YOLO” – you only live once. People will often tell you to just drop anything that resembles responsibility and head for the sun; to grow a beard and sport some locks and never look back, but the reality is that it’s just not that simple. Money is a big obstacle for one, but even with money, you still need the time. If you haven’t noticed, as your responsibilities increase, your time decreases. Age doesn’t help either.

But, what if there is a way that you can experience some of your favorite adventures without leaving the house? It won’t be quite the same, but consider it a stepping stone between not ever experiencing it at all, and experiencing something in all its glory. Something that leaves you feeling both inspired and refreshed, so at least you hold onto your dreams for long enough to see them through.

Well, actually there is Virtual Reality.

VR is an exciting new technology that lets you immerse yourself in digital versions of real-life experiences. It is designed to look and feel as real as actually being there, so your brain is somewhat tricked into believing the experience is real. It means that there really is a whole world of adventure awaiting you and you can experience it from your living room.

Below are five examples of some of the weird and quirky things you thought were only possible in the real world, but you can actually try them at home.

Be a pilot and tour the world.

That’s right, Microsoft simulator, the world’s most realistic digital flight experience, has now entered the space of virtual reality. You can literally look out the airplane window and see the wonders of the world as though you are actually there. All you need is a headset, not to mention the game and consul.

Roller Coasters

Do you ever fancy a day out at a theme park, but want to skip the queues and the bad weather? How about picking all your favorite daredevil rides from all the theme parks around the world and having them under one roof – yours! Well, now it’s possible because VR lets you. Don’t think you escape the motion sickness though, the experience feels so real that you might want to keep that bucket handy.

Escape Rooms

Everyone likes the idea of being a James Bond escape artist or the hostage on a pirate ship that sets themself free before being made to walk the plank (just think of Captain Jack Sparrow). Now, you can turn your living room into what will feel like the center of a live tv game show. With so many games to choose from, you will literally be there until, well, you set yourself free. Remember you can just switch it off, so there is no need to call a rescue party.

Adult Entertainment

Ok, so this one isn’t for the faint-hearted. If you ever want to take your sexual experiences to another level, then VR Porn has everything you could ever imagine. Whether you want to experience a disapproving dominatrix or a threesome with your favorite actresses, VR will have you covered, quite literally. You get to experience everything in the scene as though you are the lucky model in the movie. It really feels as though the actress is looking at and talking to you as she performs.

Scuba Diving

Have you ever wanted to dive into the great barrier reef? Or maybe you have and want to reconnect with the experience for nostalgia. Either way, you can get a taste of the experience through VR. We know it won’t be the same outside of water and no it’s not recommended to try it in the bath, but hey, no one will know if you do. Either way, you will get to experience the beautiful colors and the joy of seeing exotic fish swimming up close to you. It’s truly a remarkable and tranquil experience.

VR is a great way to experience some of the world’s adventures when you can’t do so physically, be it because of a disability, financial reasons, or just because you don’t have the time. With VR none of these things matter.
