Nokia 3310 is Back With 3G Support- Features, Release Date and Price

After an unexciting response received by the Nokia 3310 in UK, USA, and Australia in February earlier this year, the phone made a comeback with a revamped look. HMD Global has unveiled its revamped Nokia 3310 mobile phone on-stage during its press conference on Thursday at the Mobile World Congress tradeshow, in Barcelona.


Speaking about the phone Nokia said, “In a world dominated by smartphones, the mix of nostalgia and a beautiful phone that just keeps going has captured people’s imagination. Our fans around the world have been asking for this iconic phone to support 3G. Fans asked, we listened, and today welcome the Nokia 3310 3G”.

TheNokia 3310 released in February supported 2G connectivity which wasn’t widely liked by the users. The company made few changes to the phone such as giving a matte finish unlike the glossy 2G phones, Bluetooth 2.1 which can be paired with other phones and speakers including the support for 3G is set to release in mid October. The handset also features the classic snake game.

The tagline of the new mobile promises “With 3G connectivity, you’ll stay connected to the things that matter to you, whether it’s the news, your favorite blog, even Facebook, and Twitter.”


The phone features a 2.4-inch color screen beneath a curved window for better visibility in sunlight, a 2MP camera, FM radio, Bluetooth and support for microSD cards up to 32GB, an LED torch, 1200mAh battery that will last for 27 days in standby, 6.5 hours of continuous phone calls or around 40 hours of MP3 playback. Nokia is set to release its smartphone in mid-October.

The Nokia 3310 will be available at a price of AU$89. The selling prices in UK and USA aren’t announced yet. Nokia has been striving to get back in the competition since its comeback. It also unveiled its flagship smartphone Nokia 8 in August which features a 5.3-inch Quad HD display (2560×1440). It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of storage with extensible storage.
