Microsoft Launches its First-Ever Laptop 'Surface Book' and Surface Pro 4 Tablet

Microsoft has launched a slew of new products at its Windows 10 devices event in New York City on Tuesday. During the event, Microsoft has unveiled two flagship smartphones Lumia 950 and 950XL that runs on Windows 10 Operating system. The company also wrapped off its budget-friendly device, Lumia 550 at an affordable price. Also, it has launched the second version of Microsoft band which is a wearable fitness tracker. The best part at the event is, ‘Surface Book’, which is the first laptop launched by the Microsoft company. It has also unveiled Surface Pro 4 Tablet at the grand Windows Event. All these cool new gadgets were wrapped off at the Event in New York by the Software giant Microsoft. Here is everything you need to know about the Microsoft’s first laptop, Surface Book and the upgraded Surface Pro 4 tablet.

Surface Book – Microsoft’s First Laptop

Microsoft has unveiled Surface Book which is the company’s first attempt at designing a Windows-based convertible computing device. For quite some time, the company focussed on the hybrid PC’s and for that reason, it is quite surprising for most of them that Microsoft has launched its first-ever laptop. Here are the Key specifications of Surface Book.

The new Surface Book has a 13.5-inch diagonal touchscreen that uses PixelSense technology. It comes with a ridiculously high pixel resolution of 3,000 x 2,000 pixels with which the images and videos will look incredibly crisp. The machine is powered by an Intel Skylake processor. The laptop runs with a dedicated Nvidia GeForce GPU which is the latest generation Intel Core processors and a solid state drive. Also, the device is powered by a 12-hour battery.

One of the most amazing features of Surface Book is, the screen can be pushed all the way back 360-degrees. It can also be detached from the keyboard dock. The Nvidia graphics card is present within the dock. If you want to use this Surface Book as a tablet, then you can use Intel Skylake integrated graphics. The Surface Book is priced at $1,499 and is now available for pre-order in the US, and Microsoft has not revealed about its launch in India.

Surface Pro 4 Tablet – Better Innards

Microsoft has upgraded the Surface Pro line-up, with the new tablet that comes with a larger screen and the latest Intel Skylake processor, which is the Intel’s latest 6th-generation Core M and i-series processors. Earlier, we have the Surface Pro 3  which had a 12-inch screen. Now, the upgraded version, Surface Pro 4 gets a 12.3-inch display screen. The screen resolution of Surface Pro 4 remains the same  as the previous version at 2,160×1,440 pixels. A larger screen has been incorporated for the new tablet and the dimensions of the Surface Pro 4 remain the same as 292.10 x 201.42 x 8.45.

The Surface Pro 4 comes with an integrated Microsoft Hello biometric authentication. It also comes with a new fingerprint sensor integrated into the keyboard dock which is known as the Type Cover. The new Surface Pro 4 tablet also comes with the updated stylus, known as Surface Pen which has a tail-end eraser. The stylus has 1,024 pressure points on the tip and enhanced battery life.

The Surface Pro 4 is priced at $899 and will be available in the US later this month. However, there is no word about pricing in India as the previous editions of the Surface tablets were never made it to India.
