Elon Musk Unveils Tesla’s New Semi-Truck and Second-Gen Roadster

Tesla unveils the most badass truck ever. Elon Musk, the Chief-Executive of Tesla had revealed the long-anticipated Tesla Semi at the invite-only event in Hawthorne, California.

Tesla Semi is all electric semi truck and has a range of 500 miles on a single charge. This semi truck can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 5 seconds and with a hauling 80,000 lbs, its maximum capacity, it can go up to 0-60 mph within 20 seconds which is like incredibly fast and the automobile has a better drag coefficient.

What makes the Tesla Semi standout is that it offers a transmission that doesn’t require shifting of gears along with regenerative braking.

The company says that Semi is the safest and most comfortable truck ever due to its enhanced Autopilot that avoids collisions and a centered driver position providing maximum visibility and control, and a low center of gravity offering rollover protection.

According to the company, when compared with its rival diesel companies, Tesla Semi would work out cheaper than a diesel equivalent. but did not share the cost of an individual truck. As far as now, it didn’t share the details of the cost of the individual truck. The Semi truck will go into production 2019.

And finally, Elon Musk surprised everyone by revealing a new Roadster, which he described as “a hardcore smackdown to gasoline cars”.

This stunning four-seater can do 0 to 60 mph in 1.9 seconds. He also said the new Roadster would go from 0 to 100 mph in 4.2 seconds and will clear the quarter mile in 8.9 seconds. However, Musk said he wouldn’t mention the top speed, but he gave a clue to the audience that it would be above “250 mph.” The Roadster would be integrated with a 200kwh battery pack and would have a 620-mile range per charge, or over 1,000 kilometers. That would be like driving from Los Angeles to San Francisco, and back, without recharging.

He said riding in traditional cars would be like driving “a steam engine with a side of quiche”. The new Roadster becomes available in 2020 which would be “the fastest production car ever” made.
